Photography is a recording of light itself. Like all things, light changes and flows, and each photograph captures illumination as it once was. Photography is a distillation of light and time passed through the filter of the device and the artist’s impulse.
From neglected property to icons of mortality, decay surrounds us. It may result from neglect, or simply from the will of nature. Both once-living matter and the ignored shells of man made structures eventually break down. Many try to ignore Decay, the waning of existence.
It’s a gift to be alive in this era of music and creative freedom. Photography and live music have gone hand in hand as experiences that shaped me since childhood. I love to capture images of music culture and the connections it creates in Philadelphia and beyond.
We use photographs not only to remember, but to share memories with others. Through photography, we can learn to visualize life from unique perspectives. Photos reveal new ideas and can take us to the center of the wilderness or the heart of the city.
